Dr Ernst H. B. van Biljon is a supply chain practitioner, academic, strategist, and technology business commercialisation specialist with nearly 35 years of experience spanning supply chain management, logistics strategy, resilience architecture, and international advisory across African and global operating environments.

He is the originator of the Shockwave Economy framework and its associated practitioner models, including the Certainty Premium, the Reactive Gap, the Three Futures Framework, and the Resilience Architecture system, a body of original intellectual work developed to address the specific conditions of the current disruption environment.

His career spans senior practitioner roles, academic appointments, and strategic advisory engagements with organisations navigating complex supply chain environments across Africa and internationally. A former Professor of Logistics Management at Nelson Mandela University and currently Dean of Research at the IMM Graduate School, he brings to this platform the perspective of someone who has operated in these environments, not studied them from a distance.
